Individual Psychotherapy

I offer brief and long-term psychodynamic therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. This is an insight-based approach that aims to develop a capacity to be self-reflective and have a better understanding of the reason(s) for one's problems and translate the insight into an ability to cope with current and future difficulties. To enable this process, I offer a secure and consistent environment to permit the safe expression of painful or shameful feelings, fantasies, impulses, and memories.

In addition, more structured CBT and DBT methods may be adopted if it is the most effective approach for any given difficulties.

Group Therapy

I facilitate different kinds of groups from psychodynamic or dialectical behavioural approaches for adults and adolescents for varying purposes. The purpose of group work is to equip individuals with active coping skills or to help them gain insight to help them grow emotionally and solve personal problems in a supportive space. Unlike the two-person relationship between client and therapist in individual therapy, group therapy offers multiple relationships to assist the individual in growth and problem-solving.

Parent Counselling

Parent counselling draws from different therapy modalities and is a suitable intervention for helping parents better understand their inherent parenting style and the subsequent dynamics that may occur. This is a collaborative process that requires the rehearsal of different skills and strategies between sessions. The basis of parent counselling is to help empower parents and support them through challenges that may arise in their families.

Psychological Assessments (7-18 years)

When parents, teachers, or other individuals working with a child are concerned about developmental delays, behavioural challenges, or learning, they may be referred for a psychological assessment. A psychological assessment is an evaluation that provides information to clarify if a child meets the criteria for any diagnosis and ultimately can assist with developing recommendations for treatment and intervention. By understanding a child’s strengths and weaknesses, parents, teachers, and professionals working with children can better manage their expectations and develop goals relating to how best the child can be ordered and assisted.

Workshops

I  offer psycho-educational workshops geared towards increasing awareness around mental health and personal well-being for schools, businesses, and organisations.
